Let the games begin! Spring is finally underway working toward summer. The daytime temps have been in the 50/60s with the forecast predicting we’ll hit the 70’s this weekend. As of Saturday the west end of Gunflint was wide open but the ice was still firmly set on the main portion and east end of Gunflint, but the sunny weather did it’s usual trick and as of late yesterday evening, the Lake pretty was much open. Of course you’ll still have to watch for floating ice patches for the next couple days.
Bob and Wyatt went out for the evening to check for any Walleye activity. The caught a couple nice eaters and lost a big one. Looks like we’ll have fresh shore lunch dinner this evening.
There’s nothing like a nice evening and great sunset on a calm lake . . . except fishing on a nice evening with great sunset on a calm lake!
Guests have been fishing the trout hard this spring. This group had an adventerous but sucessful day on Sag fishing for Trout on Saturday. They had to break ice in a few spots, but I would guess that much like Gunflint Lake the sun has taken control of that situation.
Come fishing this weekend. We still have openings for camping or cabins over Memorial! Give us a call 218-388-4454
