The Lodge

The Gunflint Pines property was originally part of the Gunflint Lodge property as purchased by the Spunner/Kerfoot family in the late 20's.  In the late 70's Gunflint Lodge sold the rustic campground and 4 A-frame cabins to the Smiths, who built what is now the store section to serve as their main lodge.  In the early 80's they built what is now our main lodge building which boasts vaulted ceilings with pine interior and log beams.

Most often you will be greeted by Bob or Shari themselves as you enter the lodge.  We feel fortunate that we are still a small enough resort to be classified a "Ma & Pa" operation, and pride ourselves on the fact that we take great interest in making sure you relax and feel at home in the Northwoods.

The main lodge offers a sitting area with a woodstove fireplace and tables for dining or playing games.  Complimentary coffee & teas are always available when the lodge is open.  Often guests stop by in the morning to grab a cup o'joe and read the local paper or magazine or gather to share their fishing or hunting tales from the day prior.  Cold days find guests relaxing by the fireplace, sipping coffee or cocoa with a good book and rainy days often fill the lodge with families and children playing board games and cards.  Sometimes we even break out the marshmallows and roasting sticks for indoor s'mores.

The snack bar offers Pizzas, burgers, soup & bread, ice cream & malts, chips & popcorn.  We also offer a gift area, and general store area with beer, pop, ice, basic grocery supplies and sundries.
