Gunflint lake is approximately 1 - 1.5 miles across (north/south) and 6.5 - 7 miles long (East/West). It lies on the Minnesota and Canada Border. There are no motor restrictions on Gunflint Lake or it's connecting waters of Magnetic Lake, Little Gunflint Lake, Little North Lake and North Lakes. You can gain access to some of the connecting waters with a 16ft or smaller fishing boat. Larger boats can access Gunflint and Magnetic Lakes but may be limited from accessing other lakes by the water lever, depending on time of the year. We have crystal clear waters with water clarity that has improved over the past 10 years and now averages 20Ft visibility. Lake depth on Gunflint is up to 200+ft. Dominant fish species include Lake Trout, Walleye, Small Mouth Bass & Northern. Ice out usually occurs in early May. Since Gunflint lies on the MN/Canada border and there's no customs station, a Remote Area Border Crossing permit (RABC or CANN Pass) is required to cross the border for any recreational purpose including fishing. This is from immigration Canada, and requires 4-6 weeks to process. There is no charge for our guests to launch their boats from our waterfront or to dock along the shoreline in front of their lakefront premium campsite. Dock space is limited and should be reserved ahead. ~Please leave Jet Skis at home!!!~ Gunflint Lake information Click Here Minnesota fishing regulations Click Here Buy a Minnesota fishing license online Click Here Ontario fishing regulations Click Here Buy Ontario Outdoor or Fishing license online Click Here Remote border Crossing application Click Here Reserve a Boundary Waters permit online Click Here Questions??? 218-388-4454 Simplify your life . . . .
