We have snow!

Wednesday, November 28th, 2007

Tuesday morning we awoke to 3 inches of the fluffy white stuff.  Then this morning we had an additional 3 inches and it snowed lightly all day.  We now have 6-8 inches and it looks like we'll be starting to pack ski trails tomorrow.  I'll try to post a picture tomorrow.

Jaret, Wyatt, Pillow, Ms Prissy and the egg           Wyatt & the Thanksgiving Egg

Today was a sunny beautiful day! Wonderful because it was Thanksgiving day, but even more so because Ms. Prissy gave us a wonderful surprise. An egg! The first time since August that any of the girls have laid one.

Yes we have 3 chickens: Pillow, Dragon and Ms Prissy. They are Brahms chickens and we are learning all about them, feeding, keeping and cleaning up after them. It’s mostly by trial and friendly support. A little searching on the internet and a lot of question and advise asking.

This past October the work weekend participants worked extra hours and helped us build a new coop for them. I can’t tell you how excited I was – but I’m sure they could. – Thank you !!!!!

The weather has been turning colder and we have begun to get snow. If it stays cold this week and the winds don’t kick up perhaps the lake will even freeze over soon. We’ve been out brushing and clearing the ski trails in preparation for the ski season. It’s not too late now to book a winter getaway as a holiday surprise!
