Edith the duck on our awning   Richard      Laurie    Fox

Just when I was ready to unhook the ole rv and head back to warm Texas it seems that summer is here!  We have had beautiful weather the last few days!  There has been some really great fishing reports from our guests and we have seen more new wildlife.  The fish pictures above are of my son and daughter in law with some of their catch.  They are visiting from New Hampshire.  The duck we have nicknamed Edith and the Fox was just hanging around our campsite a couple of nights ago.  We are getting ready for some really dark skies for those of you who like the stars.  Come visit us!

Young moose out for a walk        Squirrel checking us out.

Get a little rain and sunshine and boy do things start blooming!  Everything is turning green.  We are looking forward to some wild strawberries soon and are on a mission this  year to find some morel mushrooms!  Ron and I took a drive the other day and saw this young moose just trotting along the trail.  Closer to home Ron was hanging a swinging frog for me at our site and left the ladder up.  I got this cute photo of a squirrel who used it to check us out.  Our cat was on the inside looking out!

Memorial Day at Gunflint Pines waterfront    Look at those fish!  Having fun at the playground.

Campground on Memorial WeekendWell as   much as we would like for time to stand still sometimes so we can catch up it just is not happening!  It has been a while since we posted so we will try to bring you all up on the latest.  As you can see from the photos the Memorial Day weekend here at the Pines was not only beautiful but very busy.  Our waterfront was full of boats.  The boats were for the most part full of fish and our playground was being used by our guests.  The campground was full and the weather cooperated very well thank you!  Ron and Bonnie Morton are back this year in their usual spot and look forward to meeting more new guests this season.
