Winter Fun!
Saturday, February 25th, 2012We have a honeymoon couple in house this week. It’s fun watching them make the most of their vacation. Since they got here on Wednesday they have taken our 2 hour guided snowmobile tour, gone ice fishing with Bob for a couple hours, taken a Belgian Horse Drawn Sleigh ride at Okontoe, and gone snowshoeing. They mentioned that yesterday they spent the evening relaxing and playing board games by a great fire in the fireplace.
We had fresh snow on the ground again this morning (I’ll update the snow report page after this). Bob has been out grooming the ski trails since 6 am. Many of the fishermen in house are just heading out on the lake now (must’ve had a little more fun last night and slept in). I’ve been hearing mixed fishing reports. Most are at least seeing trout, it’s the getting them to bite that varies. I’ll get Bob Sr to post a fishing report later tonight as he’s been out there for the past 4 days.
We’re really starting to gear up for the 6th annual Mush for a cure event!! March 9-10th. Saturday morning there’s a Mushers pancake breakfast and fundraiser here at the Pines. It’s open to the public! Plan to come for breakfast.
