Looking for a cheap getaway? Drop what you’re doing and come North to lend a hand Saturday morning for 4 hours and stay Fri/Sat nights including a Saturday evening BBQ for $75per person.   The weather looks great for the weekend.   Partly sunny with temps in the high 50′s.  We’re looking to do outdoor projects.  Raking, tidying up the waterfront, perhaps split wood, whatever seems to work best.  The best part is you can hike or even venture out in a canoe (carefully) when your through.   It’s  a great cheap getaway for a group of college kids!  (families with kids welcome too, and we’ll discount the rate for children.)

The ice is gone on the west end of the lake.  While there is still ice pack on the east end – we can tell from past experience that all should be gone by Saturday at the latest.  The good news is that the water levels have been and continue to be on the rise.   So far this year Bob estimates that the water level has come up  some 20 inches.   Usually the water level rises until around Memorial day, then begins receeding for the year.    Bob believes we may finally have normal spring water levels this year. 

Some people have called concerned about a rumor that fishing opener is being delayed.  This is not true for our area.  The two spawning areas feeding into Gunflint Lake are closed for spawinging as they have always been!!!  NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!   – So come fishing!!  We hope to see you soon!!!
