Getting ready for the holidays
Yesterday was a beautiful day. The temperatures were moderate (mid/high 20′s) so I spent much of the day pulling out Christmas decorations, hanging lights, reorganizing the ski rental area and putting out the list trail ski lights. I really want to make some pine wreaths so I’d better get cracking this morning and finish up my chores.
Yesterday afternoon, while taking a lunch break I watched a big Blue Jay spinning and eating fat from our suet ball hanging from the deck. Wyatt had the great idea to take the netting from our Thanksgiving Turkey and fill it with deer fat from this year’s harvest – so that’s our suet ball. The Blue Jay seemed to approve as he sat there pecking away and spinning in circles.
