Meet Sota the Camp Dog!
Here at the
Gunflint Pines we love Pets! Meet Sota our English Springer
Spaniel. Sota's name is taken from Minnesota. She was
born on December 20th 2004. We adopted her in late February
2005 and she took over the camp shortly thereafter. She
has been appointed the position of camp greeter, and welcomes both
guests and pets alike.
She has been
caught shoplifting several items out of the gift shop and provides
much entertainment for the visiting children. Her most recent trick
however is that she has figured out how to open the door to get
outside. Unfortunately she has not yet learned the art of
getting back in - which can be a bit inconvenient in the wee hours
of the morning.
Several of the
pictures are of guest dogs. So take your
next vacation with your pet, whether you take them hiking, boating, snowshoeing, ski-joring or even canoeing we know that they're an
important part of your family.
We do, however, know that they don't always behave the same in
strange places. We ask that your dogs remain on leash when
outside. Be sure, that if you are leaving them in the cabins
alone, you leave something familiar (their pet bed or a shirt or
jacket of yours) for them to snuggle in so they don't feel
abandoned.
We ask that you don't leave them for extended periods of time
alone in the cabins (unless they are in portable kennels).
Remember they are on vacation too.
If your pet is accustomed to sitting on the furniture we offer
"pet sheets" to help keep the furniture clean. We always have dog
treats in the lodge and love to meet them whenever possible. But be
careful - sometimes they'll get more attention than you will.
